Your member-owned electric cooperative has known this since our inception. We were formed by people in this community to serve those who work, worship and live here too. We are an independent organization governed and controlled by our members. And you, as our member, are part of this special group.

As a member of your electric cooperative, you receive local and personal service from employees at your co-op who live in your community too. And your cooperative is involved in your community in more ways than just providing jobs for those who live here. We support schools, youth programs and local events.

Local Control

As a member of your local electric cooperative, you have a voice in how your co-op is run. Cooperatives follow the basic principle of one member, one vote. Every year you have an opportunity to vote for other members who will represent you on the board of directors. These folks are your friends, neighbors and fellow residents of our community.

Occasionally, you may be asked to vote on a policy, such as a bylaw change (this is like the constitution for your co-op).

Every member in good standing of the co-op may run for the board. This is one of the key differences between a co-op member and a customer of another utility.

Personal Service

As an electric cooperative member, you receive personal service from employees who live in your community too. They may be your neighbor or your friend. You may see them in the grocery store or at church.

Our employees care about our community. And they care about you, our members. Line workers often work in rough weather and put in long hours to get your power back on quickly when storms knock it out. Member service representatives you speak with try to answer your questions with precision and address your concerns with compassion. Engineers continually explore new technologies to improve service reliability. And our finance department works to make paying your bill easier and more convenient.

Whether it’s a power outage or energy audit, a billing question or community event, we’re working hard to provide you with the best service every day.

Our Concern for Community

We know your community is important to you. It is important to us, your local electric cooperative, too. In fact, one of our guiding principles is “concern for community.”

From supporting schools through youth programs and education to funding local events, your cooperative is involved in this community.
