Co-op members are why we exist
You set up your electric service account with your local electric cooperative and you think to yourself, “That’s done. Now I just have to pay my monthly bill.” But the truth is, we’re more than just a utility and power provider that you pay each month for electricity. We have more to offer – and we want you to know about the benefits that go along with being a member of a rural electric cooperative.
If you dig in your yard before having underground utilities marked, you could be in for an unwelcomed surprise. Before you dig, always call 8-1-1 or go online to submit a request to have underground utilities marked. You will avoid injury, expense, embarrassment – and a very inconvenient day in the dark.
School bus safety
As school buses hit the pavement this year, make sure your kids know what to do if an accident involves a downed power line. Teach kids how to stay safe around downed power lines; stay on the bus and do not get out.
Are your little ones safe? A study done by Temple University showed that children between the ages of 2-4 were able to remove plastic outlet caps in about 10 seconds. Install tamper-resistant outlets to reduce the chances of your child sticking something into an electrical outlet.
